Adweek profiles two news organizations that still have a viable business model — Bloomberg and Reuters, suggesting that they might ultimately be the last ones standing…

With strong subscriber numbers for their exclusive – and expensive – financial data and reporting, Bloomberg and Thompson Reuters are in growth mode.

This puts them in the unique position to be hiring talent and considering acquisitions of stalwarts of traditional media like The New York Times and The Financial Times.

But with newsroom squabbles between the journalists and the analysts, are either truly capable of serving the general public as well as they serve their current clientele?
