China Tightens Screws on Web Again, This Time Forcing Businesses to Aid Cause

[ 0 ] November 15, 2012 |

Ahead of the Chinese Communist Party congress, Chinese cyberpolice tightened the information flow on the web yet again, but this time twisted the arms of businesses to do so…

The New York Times reported that Chinese web police are forcing businesses to assist them in policing and restricting the flow of information on the internet by requiring them to buy and install equipment to log traffic, block websites, and connect to local police servers.

Jonathan Ansfield reports for The New York Times.
